When Adam Findlay joined CELF’s Leadership Waikato Programme, he had recently been appointed Construction Manager at Foster Group Ltd, navigating the demands of leadership while raising a young family. He was eager to grow and make his mark in the role.
“CELF came at a perfect time,” Adam reflects. “It gave me clarity, confidence, and a network of peers in similar positions.” The programme provided him with practical tools, space to reflect, and insights that would shape the next stage of his career.
Today, Adam is the General Manager and Director of Foster Group Ltd, taking on new challenges, growing teams, and leading with purpose. He is also a trustee and co-chair of a non-profit organisation, applying the same leadership principles across sectors.
His biggest personal and professional learning? “Leadership is not about having all the answers – it’s about asking better questions, listening carefully, staying grounded in values, and being authentic.”
For Adam, CELF was a turning point: “It gave me the space to stop, reflect, and gain the tools needed to make an impact. To lead others, you must learn to lead yourself.”
CELF’s Leadership Waikato Programme continues to empower leaders across the region, helping them grow in confidence, influence positive change, and build lasting networks.
