A Decade of Leadership in Action
Last Friday, the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts was alive with energy as we celebrated the graduation of CELF’s Class of 2025. This milestone marks ten years of the Leadership Programme, and with it, a community of 193 alumni making waves across the Waikato.
The evening was a tapestry of appreciation and inspiration. From the warm welcome by MC, Whetu Taukamo, who guided us with heart and humour, and Andrew Ahmu whose music and energy added to the celebratory vibe.
A special moment was Bernie Crosby’s speech, reminding us of CELF’s roots and the power of entrepreneurial leadership. Bernie’s story, from founding Prolife Foods in a garage to global success, underscores the impact of vision and perseverance and his absolute commitment to the community of which business is apart.
We celebrated Andrea McBeth as Alumni Leader of the Year and heard from the Class of 2025 representatives Aldrin Arguelles and Wai Crombie, who captured the transformative journey of the class. Their reflections on finding voice, building capability, and embracing community resonated deeply.
To our founders, sponsors, faculty, and every contributor, thank you. Your support makes CELF possible. As we look to the horizon, we’re reminded by Professor Brad Jackson “that it’s not great leaders, but great leadership, that creates lasting impact.”
Congratulations, Class of 2025. Go with courage, compassion, and conviction, the Waikato and the world need you.
