We’re pleased to introduce you to two of our newest members of CELF's Trust Board – Carmen Jacobsen and David Wiles. Both bring deep expertise, fresh energy, and a shared passion for growing leadership in the Waikato.
Introducing Carmen Jacobsen
Carmen is all about enabling transformation, of people, culture, and organisations. With a career spanning senior roles in operational risk, people and culture, and organisational development, she’s led change at Rabobank, NZ Police, Wise Group, and Livestock Improvement Corporation.
Her authentic leadership style, coupled with an ability to coach, influence, and create thriving workplace cultures is a valuable addition to CELF's board.
Carmen said “It's a privilege to join CELF's Board. I believe great leadership is built through connection, integrity, reflection and continuous learning. When leaders are authentic, grounded in their communities and open to learning from one another, leadership and impact extend far beyond their organisations.”
Carmen is an Alumna of the University of Waikato - Bachelor of Management Studies focused in Human Resources & Strategic Management and CELF's Leadership programme.

Introducing David Wiles
David brings strategic vision and a passion for innovation from the energy sector. Currently General Manager Energy Services at WEL Networks, he’s spent the past eight helping shape Waikato’s energy future through innovation, collaboration, and a focus on creating lasting community value.
David says “I believe leadership is the most powerful lever we have for regional impact. By growing and connecting great leaders, we can create lasting change far beyond their own organisations.”
A University of Waikato MBA graduate (with Distinction) and CELF alum, David combines strategic thinking with a deep commitment to purpose-led leadership, making him a natural fit for CELF’s mission to grow connected, future-ready leaders. [nz.linkedin.com]
